UFC President Dana White Confirms Nick Diaz To Fight At UFC 235

UFC president Dana White has revealed that Nick Diaz is set to make a sensational return to the octagon.

According to ESPN, the 35-year-old American will end a four-year absence from the promotion when he takes on Jorge Masvidal at UFC 235 on 2nd March in Las Vegas.

UFC 235 is scheduled to take place at the T-Mobile Arena.

At the time of this writing, unnamed sources have told ESPN that the fight has not been made official, but it might not be that far away from being confirmed.

Diaz has not competed for the promotion since he lost his match to Anderson Silva in 2015. However, the outcome of that match was changed to a no contest after both fighters failed a drugs test.

The former Strikeforce
and EliteXC fighter received an 18-month suspension from the Nevada State
Athletic Commission for testing positive for marijuana.

It was followed up with another suspension from
the United States Anti-Doping Agency in 2017. Diaz was clear to fight again
since April.

After a court case involving him in a domestic violence incident was dismissed in August, Diaz released a statement that said he was focused on returning to MMA.

“I’m grateful this case is finally over, I want to thank my team and my lawyer Ross Goodman for the excellent work,” he wrote on Twitter.

“But most importantly, I want to thank the fans who stuck by my throughout this process. I’m happy to put this chapter of my life behind me and I’m looking forward to focusing on my return.”

Who would win out of Diaz and Masvidal?
